Description:

Advanced Perl: Write better Perl code using object-orientation, integrate existing CPAN modules and use programming guidelines.

Course contents

This course is intended for people who have taken our Perl for beginners course or who have been using Perl for a while and want to improve their code style and practices.

Advanced Perl covers the following topics:

• Object-oriented programming with Perl: Basic concepts, objects and classes, how to organise your code, inheritance.
• CPAN: The Comprehensive Perl Archive Network: Installation, integrating CPAN packages into your scripts (using DBI::MySQL as example) and implementing the CPAN coding standards in your projects.
