Description:

Advanced PHP: Write better PHP code using object-orientation, integrate existing libraries and use programming guidelines.

Course contents

This course is intended for people who have taken our PHP for beginners course or who have been using PHP for a while and want to improve their code style and practices.

Advanced PHP covers the following topics:

• Object-oriented programming with PHP: Basic concepts, objects and classes, how to organise your code, inheritance, exceptions and patterns.
• PEAR: The PHP Extension and Application Repository: Installation, integrating PEAR packages into your scripts (using AJAX as example) and implementing the PEAR coding standards in your projects.
