Learn how to write XML for web sites and for data management. Parse RSS data for use in your applications and use XUL to create a next generation web application.Course contents
Students should have already had solid experience dealing with HTML code and developing web sites (for example from our XHTML, JavaScript and CSS course).
XML, RSS and XUL covers the following topics:
- What is XML and what is it used for
- XML syntax
- Validating XML with DTDs and XML Schema
- Styling data with XSL and CSS
- XML tools and parsers (DOM + SAX)
- Syndicate data from other websites with RSS and RDF
- Using XML to create GUIs (XUL)
